Microsoft's Gates dethroned as world's richest person by cheap furniture magnate
My favorite line from this short article about the Founder of IKEA surpassing Gates in personal wealth (thank you, weakening dollar) has to be this one:
If you think about it, Microsoft and IKEA are not terribly dissimilar. Both companies sell mass-produced gear that requires a lot of assembly and attention. But apparently this model pays quite well.

Date: 2004-04-06 07:42 am (UTC)That said, I know what to buy at IKEA to make a gorgeous room. You should see my kitchen two months from now. I can't say the same about Microsoft and gorgeous computing environments, and that's what I research for a living.
