Time ticks on

Feeling a bit down this morning, the side effect of a med I take occasionally for a skin condition that's decided to act up. Blech.
Anyway, took the bus all the way to the end of the line this morning and walked across the National Mall, seeing the arrangements being put up for the National WWII Reunion Weekend next weekend. The Capitol dome was partially obscurred in the typical DC summer haze. The WWII memorial was invisible (as we knew it would be) between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial (which was, like the dome, mostly obscurred in haze). Then a lovely walk past the roses in front of the Smithsonian's Arts and Industries building, and through the garden behind the castle, until I crossed the street over to the absolutely soulless L'Enfant Promenade.
Hey, if you have to commute to work, why not make it a pleasant experience?
Still managed to get in a bit early, so I'll take off early to meet
heardawaawaa and
lioncub for dinner down in Dupont. Should be a pleasant evening.
