Thoughts on a fetish

legalmooseSo I went to this fisting event last night, one of the regular parties for a private club here in DC.
Have a couple of thoughts on the experience.
I kept being asked how many years I'd been doing this. Kept having to reply, "since June, and you make number [insert number lower than 12]" which was not often believed. I guess I'm a natural (spacial visualization skills have to count for something, I suppose).
There was a pretty good mix of guys. Several younger and better looking than I was expecting. Was mildly disappointed that one from the first time I'd attended was not there, but was sufficiently distracted not to notice it for long.
That said, there were still some midly creepy folks (though not much worse than you find at most gay bars).
Every man's hole is different. Each needs a different approach, watching your speed, the amount of lube (you can never have too much lube!), pacing, etc.
Their safety precautions regarding gloves, the bottom's ownership of his own lube which is only used on him, paper towels, antibacterial soap, etc. is pretty impressive. As the guy giving the orientation said, "We don't want you leaving with anything you didn't come in with."
I don't want to do another late night event - I prefer to get my sleep. Sunday afternoons would likely be better (or, even better, Saturday afternoons, but I don't think they do those).
The guys I found attractive (because they actually took care of their bodies) almost invariably were other tops. There was one guy I topped who was pretty good looking whom I might actually have done more with in another setting. As it was I got two email addresses from guys. LOL Don't know if I'll follow up, though. Only handed my email out to one guy, primarily because his partner works at the same Big Government Agency as I do, and is always good to have friends in the building (he also had a pleasant scent to him - you know how some guys will naturally smell good? he did. was pleasant while topping him).
Winking and licking your lips at me is a turn-off no matter the setting.
The occasional bottom wandering around, willing to blow you while you work on someone else is a plus, even if you don't (as I don't) get off from blow jobs. It's also very distracting, so you have to continue to focus on what you're doing, not what's being done to you (as a top).
Again, as a top, it's more fun to be in the room with multiple slings when you start than the room in the corner. Seeing what else is going on is more interesting.
Overall, a big "eh." Not a bad experience, but not something I'm dying to go out and repeat every weekend. As I've often said about other kinks, it's a nice addition on occasion, but it doesn't substitute for normal sex, at least for me.
