Just ran 6 miles upstairs on the treadmill (still a touch too much ice/snow out there for my tastes - should be clear enough to run outside starting Tuesday, barring any additional inclement weather; the joys of running in the park where they don't clear the trails). 1:04:39. Ran at a steady 10:54 pace until the last mile, then picked it up to a 10:00 pace. Was a good run.

Got back here, soaked through. Going to have to remember to get out something for the nips soon - I'm getting to soreness distances now on the weekends. Grabbed some cranberry juice, stretched, going to hit the showers in a bit, after a light meal.

Gotta love the feeling after a good long run.

I actually braved the trails today for a 10-miler, and there were several points that the only way to make it through was to either walk verrrrry slowly, or to hop off the trail and onto the snow-covered-grass (not always an option unfortunately). I'm not really sure what I was thinking.

Then again, neither was the rest of my group; they all quit after 6-miles, saying something about "ice skating".

It was VERY much the better part of valor, especially if the trails you use go through wooded parks. Every time we veered near woods, the sun had been blocked and the trail turned back into ice. Fortunately most of the stretch we used had been melted by the sun, but any patch of shade and you were doomed. Treadmill was the smarter option.
