Ten Things

Okay, time for me to actually do a meme (mainly because it's early Sunday morning, I've been up for hours and am bored).

Ten things. Seven are true, three are not. Guess which is which.

1. I've been nearsighted my entire life.
2. I've been quoted in The Advocate.
3. I am an Eagle Scout.
4. The nickname "Moose" comes from/refers to the size of my "schwanschtücker" (to borrow the phrase from Young Frankenstein).
5. I began teething all four of my wisdom teeth the week I entered college.
6. I was skinny as a rail until I was 7.
7. I am the shortest male in my family.
8. I rarely go more than a week without some sort of health issue.
9. I've run at least one 5k race each year since I started running in 1998.
10. I studied French through Mandarin Chinese.

I would guess that 1,4,9 are false.

My reasons are these: for #1, it more common for myopia to develop rather than to come about congenitally; for #4, no one says, "He's hung like a Moose," even if those critters are packing heat; for #9, you are far to conscientious to note your running patterns and goals for this to be so well-worn in a habit.

You know, when I first read your response, my brain said "rather than be hereditary" in place of "rather than to come about congenitally". I don't know how my brain changed all of those words like that, but it did, which is whaqt prompted my earlier response.

My guesses for the false ones are 4, 6, and 7.

#6 because I think you were skinny past the age of 7. #8 because you have long periods of good health, you've just hit on a bad stretch lately. And #4 is false because y'all have had the moose thing going on for quite some time.

If I'm wrong, well, that's just typical Yow repression or something. ;)
