If you are out for a meal, unless someone is in imminent danger of death or giving birth, no cell phone call is more important than the person with whom you are dining. 'ktknxbye.
I'll take calls only if they're for later plan-making which include my dinner companion or if it's my mother on something other than a Friday evening. Otherwise? The phone is not answered.
Glenn answers his all the damn time when he's out with me - generally it's West Virginia business, but I freakin' hate it, and he's been chewed out for it more than once.
I completely agree. If I'm having a nice evening with a friend of mine, the cell phone typically stays off the entire time. I also turn off the ringer on my wired phone if I remember to.
In general, I agree. However, if I'm on-call for work (and they've sprung for the pager or cell phone to begin with), that call would take priority. But I would have advised my dinner companion(s) of that before the plans were made, so we've previously had the option to reschedule or cancel.
