Biked in this morning. Observations:
Saw a great blue heron on the Potomac, perched on the handrail across from the Parks Service HQ. No penguins this morning, though. ;-)
My rear derailleur is seriously in need of adjustment. Trying to decide now if I want to zip up to City Bikes or over to Capitol Hill Bikes. CHB is closer than CB, plus I get a discount on everything but labor at CHB, so that may be the key this evening (papa needs new biking gloves...).
Rummers who insist on staying on the wrong (their left, my right) side of the path when you're bearing down on them (on the proper side of the path) are idiots.
Overall I still prefer the "clipless" pedals to the old ones, I just wish my shoes stayed locked in better when I go over large bumps. Working on that.
I'm glad I commute on a mountain bike - it makes popping up over the curb to zip past the long line of cars on Piney Branch Parkway that much easier.
It's better to drop off your biking bag and then go for coffee, no matter that the coffee place is between the locker room and your office. Balancing too many things is awkward and could lead to spillage (thankfully avoided this morning).
