Building Update

legalmooseSpoke with my building manager just now, got permission to (finally!) pitch the "extra" kitchen door that we took down in the first few days in the apartment. It and the door frame had so much paint on it that it couldn't close, or when it did slam closed you had to walk around into the other kitchen door and shoulder the thing open from the inside. So we took it down, and when they came in to do bug work for me they plastered and painted over where it used to be, so we couldn't even put it back if we wanted to. He told me to just take it down to the dumpster and pitch it. Yay! One less piece of junk in the back hallway.
The window replacement will start soon. Our section will likely be done in the late fall. After that is a new fire alarm and sprinkler system, then a replacement of the electrical wiring, and then finally the HVAC units, followed by a redecoration of the public interior of the building. It'll be very nice once it's done, but a mess in the meantime.
