Lunched with

ironmanjt yesterday as planned. Was very nice to see him and chat. We had some okay Thai food over in Woodley Park, an area in which I do not venture very often.

tracytracy, was that where your pig is hidden? Connecticut and Calvert Streets, NW? I saw one there, and it looked vaguely familiar, but I didn't get across to see for certain if it was yours)

The afternoon was some shopping and a brief run in the heat. Dinner was a lovely pot of my yummy marinara sauce (I'll freeze some for your later enjoyment,

lioncub), whole wheat pasta and "rustic bread" (as opposed to urban bread?) with

apeliotes and

cheerfulchaotic. I introduced the two of them to Sordid Lives, figuring

apeliotes especially would appreciate it, having grown up in the south.

Shoot her, Wardell, shoot her in the head!

Love that movie.

AC's working okay, if not uber-efficiently. I'm glad I decided to close the blinds enough to prevent the direct sun from coming in or it'd be miserable in there. The front bedroom, where

cheerfulchaotic has been ensconced, is nice and cool, but the back bedroom, where my bed is, is still a tad humid feeling. Though all of this is better than last year where it wasn't until July that the AC worked worth squat because of the broken compressor.
