Summer has hit, full-force. Interesting. The Gay Pride (fuck this "Capital Pride" BS; we can't put the word "Gay" in it now?) celebrations this weekend here in DC should be interesting in the heat.

On the agenda for the weekend are: 7 a.m. practice triathlon Saturday morning; parade watching with folks at whatever point the parade is on Saturday; manning the GLAA booth for part of the day Sunday; wandering through the other bits of the festival Sunday; and purchasing a Utilikilt. Otherwise, a nice, relaxed weekend is in order. ;)

Short run this morning to make sure the foot was okay. I tried to sprain it again last Sunday, so had given it some rest this week and wanted to make sure it'd be okay to run tomorrow. It is. *whew*

The practice tri Saturday, aside from being far too early in the morning, is 400m in the Hains Point pool (a 50m pool, so 8 lengths), about 16 miles on the bike, then a 5k (3.1 miles) around Hains Point. The advantage to this is that it's all very, very flat, so it shouldn't be too taxing (unlike next week's race, which is in nice, hilly Charlottesville). Looking forward to it, just have to get my stuff packed and ready and to bed early tonight.

For the same reason we had "Lee-Jackson-King Day" in VA instead of "Martin Luther King, Jr. Day".

Yeah, and that should really have been "Lee-Jackson-Poe-King Day" if we were going for all the famous Virginians who have birthdays around that time. ;)

Yeah, but if you change it to DC Gay Pride, then you'll have to change it to DC Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgendered Pride, and by that point it totally fails to roll off the tongue. :)

Let's just rename it to "Get Used To It, We're Not Going Anywhere" and call it a day. :)

Indeed you shall! I'll try to do that fairly early so a) you have a greater selection from which to choose and b) I can wear the thing around Sunday. :) I'm guessing boots and a nice T are de rigeur for wearing the kilt?

I too hope you'll post photos of the kilt. After wanting one for a good while, I finally ordered a Mocker a couple of weeks ago and can't wait 'till it arrives!
