Dear Upper Management Type,

If you expect me to wear a tie in order to look "professional," then you can't come in wearing a sports coat, slacks, dress shirt, tie, dark socks, and open toe leather sandals. All you will do is set off an ear worm of Seasame Street's "One of these things is not like the other" in my head.

I never really understood socks with sandals, seems to defeat the purpose of wearing sandals in the first place. But with a suit? Eeek! Dark socks are even worse. Sounds like he's getting ready for his Florida retirement a little early. Next he'll be wearing reversible polyester slacks pulled up to his chest…

I find women to be the worst offenders in this regard though. I've seen women dressed up - right down to their flip-flops. Yeah, I don't care if they're from a well-known designer, flip-flops are flip-flops.

Two things...one, they needs to be consistent and practice what they preach. However, is there a "casual Friday" rule?

Two, socks & sandals! UGH! Me with my MAJOR foot fetish am utterly convinced this practice was thought up directly be Satan himself. WHYYYYY are you wearing socks with sandals??? I don't get it. Let you feet go FREE!! Anyway...too bad you can't say something to him...I'm sure that would cause too many waves.

I dunno about that.....I've got over two dozen pairs of shoes in my closet. Not counting the sandals and tennis shoes. Or the cowboy boots.
