I love that iTunes organizes music by the artist's name, listing first name then last, and alphabetizing by the first name. It reminds me of being in Taiwan, shopping for US and European music. They organized things the same way, so you looked up Ms. Morisette under the As, and Mr. Michael under the Gs. It took some getting used to, but as people do I adapted pretty quickly. Searching just now for some quiet music took me back to hunting through bins in one of the few air conditioned spots in the market off campus.

Remember that in Asia, the family name is always first. So, John Doe would be called Doe John in Taiwan.

Well, yes, but "Doe John" in Chinese would also be written in characters and organized by radical and stroke order instead of alphabetically, too. ;-p

That's how I sort my music too - it's just more sensible that way. I don't think of Alanis Morissette as "Morissette, Alanis" in my head, so why should I put her under the Ms?
