Good morning, my pretties.

After forgetting to take my allergy meds yesterday and subsequently feeling like warmed-over shit, I left work early, went home, napped for an hour (after taking the drugs, of course), then spent two hours reviewing a draft BGA order on travel policy. Whee! The exciting life that is mine.

Still debating phone options for getting a Treo 650. While Sprint has gotten rave reviews, lots of family members are on Verizon (and they have service in the Metrorail tunnels), so despite the more expensive service from them, that's tempting. That or buying an unlocked GSM model and sticking with T-Mobile (about whom I have few complaints, aside from a lack of cool phones). Decisions, decisions.

You know, the only time I've used filters on here has been to remove people temporarily from my default friends list view because they posted a meme that fucked up the HTML on the page (bad friends! memes are evil and should be lj-cutted!). Never quite got the whole concept of filters, because I just post everything. If I don't want it online, I don't post it. *shrug*

Bear Happy Hour at Titan this evening. Will be a late night for me; I'm expecting to meet K out and about sometime around 10 or 11, after he gets out of some play he's attending. Hopefully I'll still be awake at that hour.

If you get the Sprint one, you can add a $5/mo option (Free & Clear America) that includes roaming on Verizon, thereby getting service in Metro tunnels.

NO FUCKING WAY! I wasted this whole last year wishing for service on the Metro and I could've had it for a mere $5 a month? Sigh. Now I'm moving and it's not worth it.

p.s. to [livejournal.com profile] legalmoose: I think Sprint's web-browsing plan is better priced than Verizon's, last I looked. But that was last year.

I totally understand. It's just that, man, I've come to be even more into the email/websurfing capabilities of the Treo than the phone.

As far as I know they do, but you might want to ask the more knowledgable people over at howardforums.com :)

Hi gorgeous!
My allergies are kicking my asshole inside out! I feel like there is a pool of muck right below my eyes! It's gross!

Since you're on the Metro so much, I'd go with the Verizon option. Sprint on the Metro is teh suck.

Yes, I'm speaking from experience. :-)

I'm not huge on filters, though I do have a couple that I use - a "work safe" reading filter that removes most of my pic communities from my reading list, and a "gay guys" filter that I post to occasionally, only because my entire friends list doesn't necessarily need to read about my thoughts on the latest porn I got or the hot guy that Dan and I slept with the other night :P

I filter for two reasons, to keep my marginally net savvy parents out of my lj and to spare certain people on my friends list from reading things they don't want to read. Some of them have aversion to things I like to talk about so, eh...I'll be nice and let them opt out.

Rumor has it that in view of the London mass transit episode last week, Homeland Security is once again considering blocking cell service in the tunnels.

They tried that in NYC and i thought the consensus was that it's more of a risk to cut the service for Emergency staff than it was to just leave it on for everyone.

Now... there's a GREAT idea for a filter - filter out all meme's!!! I like that one.

Filters work excellently for me to prevent people I know in real life from reading certain things that I want my other friends to read anyway. I don't really filter things for people I don't know at all. I do, however, refuse to post anything remotely personal in a public post - far too much opportunity to get burned that way.
