Date: 2005-08-12 05:10 am (UTC)Health 24 (http://www.health24.com/dietnfood/Eating_throughout_life/15-50-660,25863.asp) notes that studies have shown that sugar does not cause hyperactivity in children, and in fact has a calming effect.
MedicineNet (http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=52516) says the same thing, and even quotes a psychiatry professor from UT-San Antonio as saying "the biggest myth of all is that food has any connection to behavior."
You know, for non-UVA sources.
