I just finished reading "House Atreides" - the first prequel to Dune, so yeah, it's been on the brain. :-)

Was "House Atreides" any good? I was looking at it the other day, and I saw that it was cowritten by Frank Herbert's son after the author's death... is the style similar to the other Dune novels?

It's very formuleic - rather predictable because you know where it's going to end up. Not a bad read, but don't expect something quite as engaging as the original series.

I have a friend whom one can always tell when he's emailing early in his personal morning (which may or may not be in sync with morning for the rest of the timezone in which he resides) because he uses that as his tagline. Yes, completely random trivia, but it is one of my favorite taglines of his.
