The second (and third) interviews seemed to go well. The GC likes to talk, and he seemed to like my answers to his questions; he especially liked my, 'I don't really like to telework except on rare occasions' answer.

It does seem like it would be a kulcher shock going over - they're less 'command and control' than the cabinet level agencies tend to be, and more consensus and endless working groups, like academia tends to be. So I'd have that in common with my husband (who works in higher education). Not terribly social outside work, but do look in on each other during life or work events. Did find out the woman I'd be eventually replacing is going on phased retirement, so she'll be there to help show me where things are, which will be a first for me. I had to wing it on my own at the previous and current Big Gubm'nt Agencies.

So, now I wait. And keep all appropriate appendages crossed.

In the meantime, to distract myself, the husband and I are going to see a documentary about one of my favorite movies of all time, the eminently quotable Galaxy Quest. As soon as I finish changing and rehydrating - talking for two hours is a lot!
