Availed myself of my insurance today and went to see my podiatrist. I have two overuse injuries, a bit of achilles tendonitis and some irritation in whatever the tendon that attaches to the top of the big toe is called. No boot, thankfully, and since they both seem to already be dealing well with rest, that's all he prescribed. Maybe a heel lift if I felt like I needed a bit more of a break for the achilles tendon. Ooh, and I got an X-ray for the first time in several years now. Nothing like a little radiation in the afternoon.
The occasion of the podiatrist appointment also meant my first trip on DC's Metro system since I was sent home from work in March of last year because of the current unpleasantness. The upgrades to my local station were nice - new fare gates, new electronic signage. And not many people, so lots of room to sit solo (not that anyone ever wants to sit next to the weird guy with the knitting needles working on a scarf, but hey). Met the husband at his job, which is a couple blocks from many doctors' offices, chilled for a few, then headed home for a quiet night. The husband is out with a friend at a play, so I have the night to myself, and I'm using it to back up my iPhone and iPad and upgrade to iOS 15. I'm such a wild & crazy guy that way. I'm already puzzled at the update to Safari on the laptop - why did they put the tabs above the "favorites" menu when tabs have always been the thing right above the active screen? Makes no sense to me.
