More light sleep last night (thank you, heat combined with not wanting to leave the windows wide open because of the possibility of rain). Checked the DC web site and found out that there is no set date when landlords must convert a combined heating/ac system over one way or another (though I often hear people say that they do). Instead the landlord must give you the ability to keep the temperature 15 degrees below the outside temperature (in warm weather) or at least 68 degrees during the day and 65 degrees at night (in cold weather). Interesting.
They also provide for housing inspectors to do walk-throughs with commissioners, which might not be a bad idea for some of the large buildings we have in the neighborhood, to look for trash problems and the like. Would be nice to take care of some of the rat/trash issues we have with a couple of our buildings.
In the meantime, I just want a nap. :-p
