Gadget Thingeys

So, decided to get one of those iPod thingeys. I guess this means I'll be spending more time ripping more of my CDs down onto the computer now. I only have a measley 2 gigs on there now, and the new thingey is going hold 40, so I need to get moving on more of my music. :)
I swear, though, they need one device (one ring to rule them all) that'll do everything: music, PDA, phone, etc. They're getting there, but the current ones aren't quite up to snuff yet. The Treo 600 comes closest, and I was soooo tempted to get one last fall, but the lack of wireless networking is a big drawback to me (I don't necessarily always want to have to connect through AT&T's network to check email, especially when I have my own at home, 'k?). And bluetooth is fine and dandy, but if you're using the same device to check email and phone messages, why bother?
So, one small step on a possible conversion to Apple. Though the news that PalmSource is going to drop support for synching with Apple OS (although, as the article mentions, you can buy another program to make it work with your Apple) is not happy stuff. Will have to see how that works, because I'm more wedded to the Palm OS than I am to either Windows or Apple OSX.

Date: 2004-02-27 07:30 am (UTC)can i shamelessly send you a link to get one on amazon? That's where jason just got his new one and nicely contributed to my referral link (though I'm giving him money for music since we are sharing his music library).
You might enjoy the fact you can get audio books and programs on your ipod too.
